Where Profit and Quality Meet

Hanlin Farms is a 5th generation family farm established in 1836 in northwest Jay County, 3 miles north of Pennville, IN (though we prefer to think of the farm as actually being located in the town of Balbec).

Over the years since our family settled in the area, our family has engaged in: hunting, trapping, retail stores, broom manufacturing, oil production, real estate, and, of course, farming.

In early 2008, we made the decision to develop a herd of registered Angus cattle.  In traveling from the mystic shores of the Hudson River to the majestic Rocky Mountains, and from the frozen hills of North Dakota to the arid plains of South Texas - we believe we have found the genetics to achieve our goals which was to build a cow herd that is structurally sound, long, deep-bodied, and naturally thick with calm dispositions and good maternal instincts.

Our biggest criteria for selecting bulls in our artifical insemination program is low birth weight, high yearling weight, excellent marbling, and large rib eyes.
